Project report: Learning how to weave colourful carpets


Result & Benefit

The project result is very helpful and useful for the applicant and her accompanied persons. She managed to start her own business which earned her good profit. She is using the profit for the development of her family and utilizing it for the expansion of her small carpet weaving work. The benefit of the project is also very encouraging, as the applicant started earning income in a dignified manner and also created job benefits for other unemployed women of her area, who started earning some income and got the opportunity to learn the skill of carpet weaving.

The applicant informed that she has to face problem at the hands of middle man, who previously was supplying her raw material, but with the intervention of the staff of PWF and community members the problem was solved and now she is working without any fear and tension.

  1. Shabnum Rafiq: The beneficiary is satisfied with the opportunity provided to her through MicroAid Project & PWF program of Micro Credit Support for improving the financial situation of the community members. She hope that such type of valuable programs be organized on regular basis in rural areas and especially for women development.
  2. Surriya Balqees: The beneficiary is quite satisfied with the project activity. She is quite positive that promotion of Carpet Weaving Business in her area will help a good number of women to learn the skill and will get the opportunity to earn some income. She is quite hopeful that the project will has good impact on the lives of many as the activities may proceed forward.
  3. Shahnaz w/o Mohd Hussain: The beneficiary is satisfied with the support and help she has obtained from the project activity and hope that she will also get the opportunity to start her own business after learning the skill of carpet weaving. She hope that training centres be organized in rural areas where traditional work must be promoted and young girls must be given chance and opportunity to learn such skills as it will help them to earn their living easily once they get married or any un-pleasant thing happens with them in future.
  4. Abida w/o Mohd Javed: She is satisfied with the work which is being done for the welfare of the community and hope that PWF and MicroAid will help a good number of entrepreneurs in order to start or expand their small enterprises. She is quite positive that the project has brought good hopes and opportunities for many and further hope that young girls be provided opportunity to learn the skill and start their own enterprise in order to become a helping and earning hand for their families.
  5. Nargis w/o David: She is satisfied with the support provided to the application and hope that more assistance and training will be provided, so that quality work can be promoted and good profit could be earned. She believes that such projects changes the financial situation of the beneficiaries, therefore, these types of Micro Credit Finance Projects must be promoted in rural areas for women, as it will help the women to get an opportunity to become financial independent and may gain self respect.
